MANCHESTER ~ Robert Arthur Trask, “Buddy”, 82 passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Augusta Center for Health and Rehabilitation, Eastern Avenue, Augusta. Robert was born on February 2, 1935 the son of Arthur and Mary (Arnold) Trask. Mr. Trask grew up and attended school in Augusta until his family purchased a home on the Prescott Road in Manchester and then attended school in Manchester. At an early age, Mr. Trask developed a special knack for fixing automobiles and, for a while, had an automotive repair shop near his home. He had also been employed by Bob Somes, Automotive dealer, Bates Cotton Mill, both in Augusta and retired from Statler Tissue. Mr. Trask lived a very simple life. He was content to spend his time when home by cutting, splitting and stacking wood, lugging water from the well, cooking his meals on a wood stove and taking care of the home he loved. Mr. Trask was pre-deceased by his parents, a sister, Rose Arnold Hamblen and a half-brother Stanley Trask. Survivors include three half-sisters, Louise Morgan and Florence Moore, both of Hallowell, and Isobel Hall of Augusta, as well as several nieces. He also is survived by special friends, John and Phyllis Wing who have been long-time friends and visited him faithfully. Visiting hours will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 15th at Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home, One Church St., Augusta followed by a celebration of his life at 11:00. Following his service, interment will be in the family lot at the Manchester Forks Cemetery, Granite Hill Road, Manchester.
