GARDINER -- Ronald Gordan 'Skip' Saulnier Sr., 64, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 13, 2009. in Augusta, following an extended illness. He was born in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, on Aug. 2, 1944, to Robert and Christine (Pike) Saulnier. He was employed for Wilfred Cyr Painting, contractor, and Gallagher Insulation for many years. He was a member of The First United Pentecostal Church of Augusta. He loved to play guitar and entertain everyone. He was always telling jokes and making people laugh. He was also a member of a band named Duke and the Dynamics. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, which was his greatest joy. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Chrisinte Pike Saulnier; a brother, Bobby Saulnier; and brother-in-law John Gouin. He is survived by three children, Ron Jr. and wife Melissa, Rick and fiancee Cheyanne, and Brandy Litchfield and friend Jonathan Litchfield; seven grandchildren, Kristen and Megan Heath, Brittney Magee, and Danielle, Taylor, Sheldon and Keara Saulnier; the mother of his children, Suzan Grant; Nancy Crockett, who was like a daughter to him; one step-granddaughter, Sheena Litchfield; step-greatgrandson Coleman; two sisters, June Vallancourt and husband Joe, and Joan Gouin; special nephew Rick Vallancourt and wife Zinda; niece Lori Thompson; cousin Clifton Worthing; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The family would like to thank his caregiver, Darlene Staples, for all her dedication and loving care of their father. They would also like to thank his nurse, Cindy, and Dr. Bressard for their compassion and care. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at The First United Pentecostal Church of Augusta.
