HALLOWELL -- Rosa A. Senenky died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, at her home in Granite Hill Estates in Hallowell. She was born to August Hornitschek and Rosa Pirkel on Aug. 5, 1908, in Marisch Neu Stadt (Sudentengau), Czechoslovakia. She married Dr. Joseph Senenky in Ragensberg, Germany, in 1945. Four years later, the couple moved to Australia, where Dr. Senenky worked at the Immigration Center Hospital in New South Wales. Their only daughter, Ursula Maria Senenky, was born in 1952 in Australia. They immigrated to the United States in 1956 and settled in Augusta, where Dr. Senenky practiced at the Augusta Mental Health Center. Mrs. Senenky was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church and a member of St. Mary's Guild. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she brought joy to those around her. She was well known as a wonderful cook and crafter of beautiful needlepoint work. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Joseph; her daughter, Ursula Pascarella; one sister, Maria (Mizzi) Wawerda; and two brothers, Leo and Joseph Hornitschek. She is survived by Thomas Pascarella and his wife, Susan, and her two grandsons, Matthew Joseph Pascarella and David Thomas Pascarella, all of Windham. Friends are welcome to call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, at St. Mary's Church.
