Sandra Norwood Obituary (2007)

AUGUSTA - Sandra Jane Norwood, 67, left us to go home to be with the Lord on July 30th, 2007 at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. She was born in Hallowell, where she attended school, on August 3rd, 1939, the daughter of the late Milo Brann and Helen (Corbett) Brann. Sandra loved her family and enjoyed writing poetry, going to yard sales, and volunteering at the Goodwill in Augusta where she was known as the ?doll lady?. She was predeceased by her loving mate of 32 years, Carl Spencer; her four brothers, Paul, Richard, William and Norman; and three of her sisters, Frances, Mildred and Norma. Sandra is survived by her four sons, Robert & his wife, Gloria, of Winthrop, Norman & his wife, Wendy, of Lewiston, Carlton & his wife, Charlene, of Gardiner, and Mike of Augusta; her sister, Iva Taylor; her five grandchildren, Carlie Norwood, Ryenn Norwood, Bryel Marston, Jordan Norwood, Scott Norwood and Mike Norwood; and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and loving friends. There will be a celebration of Sandra?s life at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8th at Faith Alliance Church in Winthrop. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Augusta. Instead of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the new Harold Alfond Center For Cancer Care, 361 Old Belgrade Road, Augusta, ME 04330, where Sandra was one of their first patients. Arrangements are in the care of Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop.
