WAYNE - Stephanie Jean Webber, 39, of Wayne and Fairfield died of lung disease Saturday, March 18, 2006, at Klearview Manor with her parents and many friends and members of her extended family (the Klearview staff) at her side. She was born Feb. 25, 1967, in Wayne, the daughter of Edward and Cheryl (Gaylord) Webber. In Stephanie's early childhood days, she was an extremely active girl who loved running, riding her bicycle for hours on end, hiking the many miles with Dad on their trapline, flying lots of hours in Dad's Super Cub plane and doing lots of activities with her mother. Steff was affected by a life-altering disease at age 10 and resided at the Klearview Manor in Fairfield until her passing on March 18. Klearview Manor and her leaf program provided an excellent home for Steff and provided the utmost in excellent care and ongoing therapy in what could only be compared to life in a college dorm setting. Her infectious smile affected everyone in her life, especially those who lived and worked with her. Her communicating skills were limited to her smile but that smile opened doors to the hearts of everyone she met. She especially loved the yearly visit to Klearview by the members of the Augusta Chapter of HOG on their motorcycles for a barbecue each summer and the Gagne Christmas float that arrived before the holiday with what seemed like a thousand beautiful voices singing Christmas carols. Both of these wonderful groups donated many items or monies over the years to residents of Klearview. One of Steff's favorite yearly activities was her week with the other residents and Klearview staff at the Pine Tree Camp of Maine. On our daughter Steff's behalf, Cheryl and I want to thank the staff of Pine Tree Camp and to everyone who donates to the camp that made this week possible for Steff and hundreds more every year. Steff was predeceased by her grandfathers, Lewis Hillier and Leonard Gaylord of Winthrop; Aunt Beverly (Webber) Chappel of Biddeford Pool and Uncle Tony Dutremble of Saco. She is survived by her parents; her grandmothers, Rosa (Bruneau) Gaylord and Ivy (Prince) Hillier; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and her special family at Klearview and Leaf.
