AUGUSTA--- Abbie Bunnell Boissonneau, 102, of Augusta, died peacefully Monday May 12, 2014 in Augusta. Abbie was born in Westbrook, September 30, 1911 the youngest of seven children of Fred J. and Mabel (Kimball) Bunnell. Upon graduation from Westbrook High School, she married the love of her life, Alphonse L. Boissonneau. Abbie was a homemaker until her children were raised and then went to work for the State of Maine, Bureau of Accounts and Control and later at D.W. Adams before retiring. In retirement, she volunteered many years at Kennebec Valley Medical Center. She was a member of the Green Street United Methodist Church, Past Worthy Matron of R.P. Capen Rebekah Lodge and a member of the Get Together Senior Citizens Club. She was also an avid Boston Red Sox fan. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, (Nana to some and Gramma to others) and great-grandmother. Mrs. Boissonneau was predeceased by her husband, Alphonse in 1978 and all of her siblings, Freddie, Margaret, Helen, Alice, Emily, and Catherine. She is survived by her son, Allyn Boissonneau and his wife, Judith of Antelope, California; her daughter, Donna Cote and her husband, David, of Augusta; grandchildren, Lynda Sagar and her husband, Anoop, of Elk Grove, California, Andrew Boissonneau and his wife, Bonnie, of Renton, Washington,Matthew Boissonneau, of Antelope, California, and Debra Lestage, of Yarmouth; great-grandchildren, Madison and Grace Lestage, Forrest, Aida, Kristiana, Jaycob, and Jayson Boissonneau. At Abbie’s request, there will be no funeral service. A private burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be expressed in the form of a kind gesture to someone you love.
