Obituary

PITTSTON- Adelard "Al" Ouellette, Jr., lovingly known as "Babe" to family and friends, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Augusta Center for Health and Rehabilitation after a long battle with Muscular Dystrophy. He was 81 years old. Born on May 10, 1943, in Fort Kent, ME, Al was the son of Adelard and Gertrude (Raymond) Ouellette. In his late teens, his family relocated to Weeks Mills, ME, where Al began working alongside his father and uncle, cutting wood. His strong work ethic led him to positions at Augusta Lumber and later Hammond Lumber, where he built a respected career as a delivery driver until retiring May 10, 2007. In 1977, Al and his family settled in Pittston, ME, where he lived for the last 48 years. Al's greatest joys were found in the thrill of snowmobiling and snowmobile racing, the rumble of motorsports, and the excitement of truck pulls. Whether riding, racing, or spectating-if it had an engine and roared-Al was all in. His passion for all things motorsports left a lasting impression on those who knew him best. Al was predeceased by his parents, Adelard and Gertrude Ouellette, his brother, Norman Ouellette, and his sister, Carol Cooper. He is survived by his three sons: Rodney Ouellette of China, Bob Ouellette and wife Becky, of Winthrop, and Michael Ouellette and his wife, Nicole, of Chelsea. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Renee Pushard of Windsor, Dillon Ouellette of China, Catherine McHugh and Lily Ouellette of Winthrop, and Alyssa Ouellette and Dominic Ouellette of Chelsea. Al was especially proud to be a great-grandfather to Aubrey Pushard of Windsor. Al will be missed by his friends, Ted Wadleigh and Bob Kilmer. He will also be remembered fondly by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Per Al's request, there will be no services. Arrangements and guidance are in the care of Roberts Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 62 Bowdoin Street, Winthrop, Maine. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared with the family on the obituary page of the Roberts Funeral Home website, www.khrfuneralhomes.com
