Albert E. "Tom" Tucker Obituary (1939

Winthrop ~ Albert E. “Tom” Tucker, 77, of Highland Heights, died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, as a result of medical complications. He was born in Portland on June 28, 1939, the son of Wyman and Doris (Bushor) Tucker. Tom grew up in Old Orchard Beach and graduated from Old Orchard Beach High School in 1957. He attended Lyndon State College in Lyndonville, VT. and graduated in 1962. He began his teaching career in Millinocket High School and later in Bellows Falls, VT., before coming to Winthrop in 1969. Tom taught Phys Ed and coached football, basketball, track and field and gymnastics. He was proud to be part of the Winthrop Football State Championship teams in 1970 and 1975. He was inducted into the Lyndon State College Basketball Hall of Fame in September of 2008. Tom enjoyed very much the time he spent with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Janice Tucker of Winthrop; three sons; Scott Tucker of Winthrop; Thad Tucker and his wife Lynn of Scarborough, and Troy Tucker and his wife Amy of Wayne; a brother Terry Tucker of Dayton, ME; four grandchildren; R.J., Asha, Jesse and Audrey; one great grandson Skyler; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visiting will be held on Friday, December 9, from 5-8pm, and again on Saturday, December 10, from 11am to 1:00pm at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop.
