Andrew Leroy Peters Sr. Obituary (1951

WINTHROP ~ Andrew Leroy Peters, Sr., 62, of Millinocket, formerly of Winthrop, died Sunday, July 20, 2014 at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. He was born in Augusta on November 17, 1951, the son of Ivan and Ilene (Burnell) Wing. Andy graduated from Winthrop High School and worked at Tex Tech for quite a few years until he went to work at Foxwoods Casino for 10 years as a Pit Boss. After retiring, he moved to Millinocket. Andy really loved playing softball, golf and hunting/fishing with his close friends. He was on his motorcycle every sunny day during summer and brought his grandchildren presents daily. He also enjoyed bringing his dog, Cooper, up to camp swimming. He thoroughly enjoyed playing pool, cribbage and poker as well. Andy was very much loved and he is already deeply missed by his family and those who loved him. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Ervin Wing, and a sister, Iva Wing. Andy is survived by his two children, Andy Peters, Jr. and wife, Jaime, of Millinocket and Amanda Peters of Augusta; two sisters, Thelma Dunn and husband, Craig, of Mt. Vernon and Betty Welch and husband, Roland, of Voluntown, CT: his three grandchildren, Cameron Dunlop and Kenzi and Brody Peters; and his dog, Cooper. All friends and family are invited to celebrate Andy’s life with food and drinks from 2:00 – 5:30pm on Saturday, July 26th at the Alfred W. Maxwell, Jr. Post #40 American Legion, Winthrop. Per Andy’s request, his ashes will be scattered by his family at a later date.
