RAPID CITY, S.D.-Anita Lucille Clark Blaisdell, 81, of 3637 W. Chicago St., Rapid City, S.D., and former longtime resident of Augusta, Maine, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 3, 2001, at Clarkson Mountain View Health Care facility. She was born in Solon, Maine, June 19, 1920, the fifth child born to Harry L. & Eula (Bean) Clark. Anita graduated from Solon High School, class of 1938, and moved to Augusta shortly thereafter. On March 14, 1942, she married Robert ?Bob? Blaisdell in Augusta. During WW II, Anita worked for Central Maine Power Company. In 1946, Anita began her tenure at the Corner Music & Book Shop in Augusta, where she was happily employed until her retirement in 1990, when she moved to Lincoln, Neb., to live with her daughter. She had lived in Rapid City since 1999. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Rapid City. Anita was also a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Fitzgerald-Cummings Post 2, in Augusta. For more than 30 years, Anita and Bob were dedicated to decorating every veteran?s grave in Augusta with a flag for Memorial Day. Anita was an avid reader of books and passed on her love of books to her child, grandchild and great-grandchildren. She also liked to crochet, embroider and create miniature Persian rugs. She loved all sports, but especially the University of Nebraska Cornhusker football team. Besides her parents and husband, Anita was preceded in death by brothers Maurice, Kenneth, and Stanley Clark; sisters Doris Rupell, Hilda Kastanowski and Harriet Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Carla J. Bouffard, of Rapid City; granddaughter, Yvonne Anita Sabatka, Lincoln, Neb; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel P. Sabatka, Johana A. Sabatka and Robert K. Sabatka, all of Lincoln; brothers and sisters-in-law, Cecil and Evelyn Clark, of Warren, Maine, Gene and Avis Clark, of Gray, Maine; sister and brother-in-law, Nona and Carl Treworgy, of Hallowell, Maine; her ?son? Paul L. Bouffard, of Lincoln; several cousins, nieces, nephews and very special friends. According with her wishes, Anita was cremated. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at Knowlton Hewins Funeral Home, One Church Street, Augusta, with the Rev. Gary Hubley officiating. Burial will be in the Maine Veterans? Memorial Cemetery, in Augusta. The family suggests memorials to the First Christian Church Building Fund, 730 Quincy Street, Rapid City, S. D. 57701.
