Anne Marie Chatigny Bellucci Babkirk
Anne resided at and died on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Heritage Rehabilitation Living
Center in Winthrop, ME, post injuries plus the onset of dementia.
Anne was born on November 10, 1929, in Amesbury, MA, the middle child of 9 born to Joseph
and Susan Chatigny (McGinnis). Soon after, the family moved to Exeter, NH, where she
attended St. Michael's Grammar School and then graduated from Robinson Female Academy in
1946.
In 1947 Anne married WWII veteran Americo J. Bellucci and they moved to Portsmouth, NH,
bought a home, had 4 children and established themselves in the community. Rico died after
24 years of marriage.
In 1972, Anne met and married Maynard Babkirk, thus becoming step-mother to Dana and
David Babkirk. Anne and Maynard lived throughout Maine, in Kittery, Winthrop, York,
Chesterville, and East Livermore. Maynard died in 2011.
Anne was predeceased by her parents, her infant son David John, pre-school daughter Janet
Marie, and first husband Americo, stepson Dana Babkirk and 2nd husband Maynard. Anne was
additionally predeceased by seven of her siblings Delina, Janette, Joseph, Thomas. Alice,
Grace and Francis (Donat).
She is survived by her youngest brother, Daniel Chatigny and his wife Mary Ellen. Also her son
Stephen Bellucci and his wife Jo of Barrington, NH, daughter Dianne Smith and husband John
of Readfield, ME, stepson David Babkirk and wife Teresa of Eliot, ME. Other survivors include
Seven grandchildren, including Lisa Savitts and husband Eric, Alessandra Bellucci, Matteo
Bellucci and wife Jessica, Jessica Glendenning, David J. Babkirk and wife Helen, William Smith
and wife Ashley, Meghan Rollins and husband Jake Clark. Also ten great grandchildren, Carter,
Leah, Lilly, Marina, Nolan, Austin, Raiden, Ella, Jackson and Reed.
Her family would like to thank everyone at Heritage Rehabilitation and Living Center for their
utmost care and respect for "Annie" {pet name} during her stay with them. We would also like to
thank all the staff at Beacon Hospice for the wonderful care they showed our mother. She is still
smiling down at you. Thank you.
Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Portsmouth NH on Thursday September 30th at 11 am.
