Chelsea- Anthony W. "Tony" Riggin, 63, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Maine Medical Center in Portland, following a long illness. Tony was born on December 12, 1960 in Florida where he grew up and attended local schools. He enlisted and served in the United States Army. While serving in Germany he met his future wife, Doris Rosenbecker. They were married in Germany in 1980 and started raising their family there before returning to the United States in 1996. Together they made their home in the Gardiner area where they continued to raise their family. Tony began his career as a commercial mason, which he did for many years before illness forced him to stop working. Tony was always a hard worker who took great pride in his work. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and loved playing a good game of cribbage. He loved music especially classic rock music. Tony was predeceased by his wife Doris Riggin in 2010. He is survived by a son, Daniel and his wife Jamie Riggin of Gardiner; two grandchildren, Gabrielle and Keith Riggin of Gardiner. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at 1PM at the New Maine Veterans Cemetery, Mt.Vernon Road, Augusta, ME.
