FARMINGDALE - Arlene C. Choate, 84, of Farmingdale, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010. \r\r\n\r\r\nShe was born in Waterville on Sept. 15, 1926, one of 14 children to Elmer Joseph and Leona (Kelly) Poulin. \r\r\n\r\r\nArlene was a mother and a homemaker who loved being with her family, and was an active member in her church. She was a choir member for 23 years and involved in ministering to many area nursing homes and assisted-living facilities and ministered in area churches with her daughters, Carol and Charlotte, along with her sons-in-law, Ronald Hall and George Amburg. They traveled together as the Hall Family Singers. Arlene always enjoyed sharing her love for the Lord and singing the good news. She was a member of the Gospel Light Fellowship in West Bath. \r\r\n\r\r\nShe was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Gerald C. Choate; her parents; and nine siblings, Elmer Poulin Jr., Eugene, Larry and Monte Poulin, Delores Paglea, Janice Glovsky, and Carol Ann, Bernadette, and Violette Poulin. \r\r\n\r\r\nShe is survived by her five children, Carol (Choate) Hall and her husband, Ronald, of Farmingdale, Charlotte (Choate) Amburg and her husband, George, of Gardiner, Sylvia (Choate) Stearn and her husband, Gary, of Nashua, N.H., Gary L. Choate and his wife, JoAnn, of Farmingdale and Dale A. Choate and his wife, Danielle, of Farmingdale; four sisters, Shirley Knox of Oakland, Phyllis Garvey of Waterville, Belva Jalette of Oakland and Betty Foster and her husband, George, of Billerica, Mass.; two brothers, Martin Poulin of Naples and Richard Poulin of Waterville; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. \r\r\n\r\r\nRelatives and friends are invited to visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5, at Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta, where a celebration of Arlene's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
