Barbara E.
St.George
Mar 16, 1963 — Jul 7, 2023
NORWAY-Barbara E. (Smith) St. George, 60, was suddenly and tragically taken from us on Friday July 7, 2023 in Norway, ME. She was the mother of Theresa St. George, Raymond St. George, and grandmother of Liam St. George.
Born in Framingham, Barbara was the daughter of the late Stephen and Lillian (Hicks) Smith. Barbara was preceded in death by her brother Michael Smith and sister Karen Olsen; she leaves behind her three sisters Donna Minor, Terry Evans and her husband Jim, Evelyn Ward and her husband Jay, and two brothers Stephen Smith, and David Smith and his wife Dianne. Barbara also leaves behind several nephews, nieces, and many friends who considered her family.
Barbara loved to nurture those around her, especially through food; she was well known for her breakfast sandwiches and pecan tassies, and no one left her home hungry. Along with her human friends, stray cats and animals who found themselves in her yard were fed and cared for to the best of her ability. She loved caring for her dog, Bella, and cat, Billy; she always felt a home was more complete with a furry companion in residence.
Barbara explored a variety of employment opportunities and hobbies, but she especially loved creative ventures and often drew favorite characters for the children in her life. Barbara enjoyed painting various images and messages on rocks and gifting them to loved ones or scattering them to be found by strangers to brighten their day.
Barbara enjoyed kayaking and spending time outdoors, soaking up the sun and appreciating the beauty of gardens.
Her memorial will be private, with a celebration of her life at a later date. In the meantime, please spread kindness in her honor, and enjoy an ice cream in her memory.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Buddy Dog Humane Society or Lifewire.
