Beatrice Labbe of Aroostook County

(County Girl)

Beatrice passed on May 11, 2026, at her home. She was born on June 27,1950 in Houlton, Maine to Leland D Labbe and Rosa (Saucier) Labbe of Soldier Pond.

Beatrice attended grammar schools in Eagle Lake and Limestone. She attended her last two years of high school in Caribou. Having taken business courses, she aspired for a position that would have her and obtained a position with Donovan Insurance in Beverly, Mass at the age of 18.

At the age of nineteen she married her high school sweetheart, Brent S.

Gagnon. They had one child, Teisha.

Beatrice went on to work in the insurance business for many years until she realized that there had to be more to life. She and Teisha moved to Vermont in 1976, where they were both involved with 'Apple Wood Equestrian Center' in Warren, VT. Teisha in their equestrian summer riding camp and Bea working with a string of fourteen horses on daily trail rides. Bea went on to obtain a position with "Peter Morris Architect's in Waitsfield, VT and taught beginner skiers for the Fayston school dept. She also managed the Garrison Ski Lodge' taking reservation for the coming ski season. She & Teisha made use of their indoor swimming pool which Bea tended. There was more to life after all!

In 1980 they moved back to Maine where Bea obtained a position with the Kennebec Journal (a local newspaper) for the next five years. Then on to an accounting position with the Black Stove Shop until 1989 when she obtained the position of “Administrative Office Manager “with the Professional Engineers Licensing Board for the state of Maine. She retired from the position in 2013 to take care of her soulmate “Bobby McGee” for the next five years until his passing in January 2019.

Not a bad life after all!

Beatrice was predeceased by her parents and three siblings; Oneal Labbe, Philip Labbe, and Rosemarie Fuhrer as well as her granddaughter Ashleigh McWilliams. She is survived by her grandson Jacob Lohan, whom she loved dearly, three step grandchildren; Valarie O’Halloran, Holly Kutepov, and Nicole Lohan whom she grew to love and enjoy. And of course, her only child Teisha.

Bea is also survived by her siblings; Theresa Anderson, Deloras Fabri; Leo Labbe, Paul Labbe, Lorraine Thibodeau, David Labbe, Daniel Labbe, Roland Labbe & Mary Kulczak

There will be a celebration of life at her home at the lake on July 18th starting at noon. There will be drinks such as juice, water, and soda. Instead of flowers, please make a donation to your local hospice.
