FARMINGDALE - Betty Marie (King) Markham, 75, of Farmingdale, died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at MaineGeneralMedical Center in Augusta. She was born in Augusta July 15, 1931, the daughter of John and Ruth (Williams) King. Betty married William R. Markham on Aug. 25, 1952. Mrs. Markham worked from 1961 to 1996 as a LPN in the Emergency room of what was then known as AugustaGeneral Hospital. She is a member of the Elim Christian Fellowship. Betty enjoyed camping, fishing, going to lawn sales and horses. Betty was predeceased by her son, William R. Markham, Jr., on Dec. 27, 1958; her father, John F. King, on Nov. 25, 1965; and her mother, Ruth M. Pratt, on June 28, 2001. She is survived by her children, Gary J. Markham and his wife, Cindy, of Farmingdale, Timothy Paul Markham and his wife, Margaret Hsieh, of Pittsburgh, and Ruth M. Tweedie and her husband, Bob, of Farmingdale; her grandchildren, Jonathan M. Markham, Emily J. Markham, Jessica and Dylan Dehetre; her sister, Janet Beaulieu and her husband, Arthur, and their children, Laurie Beaulieu, Jayne Folger and her husband, Jeff, Steven Beaulieu and his wife, Lila and their children, Eric and Cady. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, One Church St., Augusta. Relatives and friends may visit from noon until service time. Burial will follow at the Carter Cemetery in Farmingdale.
