Portland- Betty Lou Pound, passed away peacefully on the morning of February 13, 2022. She was born in Millinocket, Maine on March 5, 1933, to James and Carrie (Skinner) MacKenzie.

She was the youngest of 19 children. Betty will be remembered as a loving wife and mother to her 7 children. She will always be known for the generosity, hospitality, and love of family. She was known to have shopped at TJ Maxx a few times in her life!

She was predeceased by her husband Richard (Dick) Pound, her granddaughter Scarlett and her siblings. She is survived by her children, Carrie Shaw and her husband David, Donna Pound, Donald Pound Jr., James Pound and his wife Susan, Atwood Pound and his wife Claudia, Sheila Frantz and her husband Scott, Beth Bolduc and her husband Jim. She had 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service on May 26, 2022, at 10:00 am at Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Ave. Augusta.
