AUGUSTA - Beverly G. McGary, 79, of Ganneston Drive died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. She was born in Yarmouth, Mass., on Oct. 31, 1926, the daughter of J. Arthur and Madeline (Morton) Green. Beverly graduated from Farmington High School, class of 1944, and attended the University of Maine in Orono and Farmington. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Kennebec Valley Garden Club, where she held several offices, and also the Maine State Garden Club. She was active in community affairs and fundraisers. Beverly took pride in her home and enjoyed traveling. She was predeceased by her husband, Carlton D. McGary, on Dec. 29, 2004. She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Nichols and her husband, Wayne, of Cross Lake; two sons, Alan D. McGary and his wife, Debra, of Manchester and C. Scott McGary of Auburn; three brothers, Don L. Green and his wife, Beula, of Brunswick, Richard Green and his wife, Betty, of Topsham and Joe Green and his wife, Arlette, of Brooksville, Fla.; five grandchildren, Stephanie McGary, Jessica McGary, Cameron McGary, Benton McGary and Colby Brann; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visiting hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3, at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1 Church St., Augusta, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to the charity of one's choice.
