Winthrop - Bonita Rae ?Bonnie? Morgner, 52, of Pamela Drive, died surrounded by her family on Friday June 1, 2007 at Brigham and Women?s Hospital in Boston, after a long and courageous battle with heart disease. She was born in Farmington on October 15, 1954 the daughter of Raymond and Anita (Bellevance) Desjardins. Bonnie graduated from Edward Little High School in Auburn in 1973 and attended the University of Maine in Orono, graduating with a BA in Medical Technology in 1977. Upon graduation, she became employed in the laboratory at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. Primarily working in the hematology department, she touched many, many lives in her 30 years of employment .Working there among her friends and colleagues was one of the things that sustained her throughout the last 5 years. On June 5, 1976 she married Robert Morgner, and together they raised two wonderful and equally courageous daughters. Bonnie was a long standing member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority-Laureate Zeta. Her hobbies over time included crafting, cross stitch, and knitting scarves and shawls. Her life long joy has been cooking, at which she was known to be extremely accomplished. She was happiest when she was providing meals for others. Bonnie has been a member of the Winthrop Congregational Church UCC for the past 26 years. She made holding various offices, and membership on the church committees there a very large part of her life. This was another opportunity for her to make good friends and touch many, many people. Another sustaining influence throughout her illness, and the true joy of her life these last 5 years, was her grandson Gabriel. He was, and forever will be, ?Mema?s special boy.? She was predeceased by her father Raymond Desjardins. Bonnie is survived by her husband Robert Morgner of Winthrop; her daughters Kristin Morgner of Winthrop and Katrina Dobrzelewski and her husband Jean-Christophe of Exton PA; a grandson Gabriel of Exton PA; her mother Anita Desjardins of Auburn; sisters Paulette Sheldon of Hebron NY, and Darra Enfinger of Newton GA; 4 nieces, 3 nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Visitng will be held Wednesday June 6 from 4-8 pm at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop. A celebration of her life will be held 1:00pm Thursday at the Winthrop Congregational Church UCC, 10 Bowdoin St., Winthrop, with Rev Kim Murphy officiating.
