WINTHROP ? Bruce Weston Clark, 45, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, following a courageous battle against cancer. Bruce was born in Augusta, July 22, 1956, the son of Weston and Patricia (Finnemore) Clark. He was educated in Winthrop schools, graduating from Winthrop High School in 1974. In 1978, Bruce married Patrice Merrill. He worked for Mayfair Lace, Aetna Pumps, Blake Equipment and Carleton Woolen Mill in Winthrop. For the past 10 years, Bruce owned and operated Clark Pump Service in Winthrop, installing and servicing commercial water systems throughout Maine. Bruce enjoyed the outdoors, especially snowmobiling and hunting, and enjoyed working on mechanical equipment. He was very active in the community, and especially enjoyed watching his sons play football and coaching the Winthrop Middle School football team, which he did for several years. He was Winthrop's biggest football fan. Bruce had a wonderful sense of humor and a great zest for life. He was a very loving and giving person, helping people in so many ways. He was the kind of friend you could call any time of the day or night and he would be there always. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and the community of Winthrop. He is survived by his wife, Patrice Clark, of Winthrop; three sons, Christopher Lee Clark, of Skowhegan, and Merrill Miah Clark, and Jacob Weston Clark, both of Winthrop; his parents, Weston and Patricia Clark, of Manchester; a sister, Linda Clark Ruman, of Monmouth; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Norwood and Marjorie Merrill, of Gardiner; two sisters-in-law, Laurie Carlson, and her husband, Ken, of Gardiner, and Beth Glidden, and her husband, Randy, of Vassalboro; five nieces and nephews, Jason Ruman, of Monmouth, Katie Carlson, of Bangor, Kenneth 'K.C.' Carlson, of Gardiner, and John and Miranda Glidden, of Vassalboro; four aunts and uncles, Myra Finnemore, of East Winthrop, Jacquelyn Colomy, of Augusta, Calvin Clark, and his wife, Doris, of Jefferson, and Geraldine Russell, of South Bristol; and many special cousins. Relatives and friends may visit Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop. A celebration of Bruce's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Winthrop. Burial will follow in East Readfield Cemetery. The family invites you to join them following the burial for a time of sharing at the St. Francis Xavier Parish Hall.
