Obituary

AUGUSTA ? Carl A. McEachern, 86, of Augusta, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, at the Maine Veterans Home in Augusta. He was born Dec. 19, 1915, in Greenville Junction, the son of Collin and Sylvia (Clark) McEachern, and graduated from Greenville High School and then served in the Army during World War II. Carl worked for the state of Maine Department of Transportation until his retirement in 1976. He was a member of the Columbia Doric Lodge in Greenville, the Piscataquis Chapter in Dover, St. John's Commandry in Bangor, and Anah Temple Shrine in Bangor. Carl was predeceased by a sister and a brother-in-law. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Luce) McEachern of Augusta; a sister, Lyle Campbell and her husband Clyde of Old Town; a brother-in-law, two sisters-in-law, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends may visit from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church Street, Augusta, where a funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27. Spring burial will be in the East New Portland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may go to the charity of one's choice.
