AUGUSTA—It is with a sad heart that we announce that our beloved sister, Carolyn Ayers Bradford passed away suddenly on January 17, 2018 from heart failure. Carie was surrounded by her loving immediate family and friends, Cynthia LeBlanc, Nathan Ayers, Kathy Ayers, Maija Comeau and daughters of Debbie Veilliuex, Melissa and Heidi. She was born in Augusta August 28, 1952 the daughter of Roger and Jean (Thompson) Ayers. She grew up in Manchester on the Pond Road and spent many happy hours playing in the barn, fields, woods, and lake with her neighborhood buddies, BJ, Jane, Debbie, Susan, Jeff, Doug, and Stevie. She graduated from Winthrop High School, Class of 1970. She got married, divorced, and graduated as valedictorian of her class at UMA with a BA degree. Carie worked all her life in area businesses, including Mr. Paperback, Portland Glass, the Augusta Airport, New England Air, and finally at Sam's Club, to name a few. She was preparing to retire in August of this year. Carie's smiling face and sense of humor will be sadly missed by us all. She leaves behind her older sister, Cynthia LeBlanc; younger brother, Nate Ayers; Aunt, Dorothy and several nieces, nephews, and cousins and her adopted family. A memorial gathering will be held at the Manchester Lions Club, Saturday February 24, 2018 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Carie was an avid lover of animals, therefore, anyone wishing to make a donation in her name may make it to the Animal Refuge League of Maine, P.O.
