AUGUSTA ~ Catherine Marie Fenderson passed away Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta, Maine. She was born July 4, 1924 in Sanford, Maine, the daughter of Christos and Madeline Christeas. She graduated from Sanford High School in 1942 and then attended Macintosh Business School in Dover, NH. She worked for the Department of the Navy during WWII. After the war she worked for the Sanford Employment Service and married Carll Fenderson in 1944. They settled in Augusta and while there she worked for the Soil Conservation Service and the Department of Education. She proudly served as the Assistant Clerk of the House during the 106th legislative session. After working for the Veterans administration in Togus she retired, spending several years sharing her time between Jacksonville, FL and her beloved Maine. During those years she was extremely active with her music, dancing and bridge. She was a member of South Parish Congregational Church in Augusta, ME and the Congregational United Church of Christ of Arlington Heights in Jacksonville, FL. She is survived by her brother Theodore, her son, Mark, his wife Jessie, two grandchildren and two great-children. There will be no services at this time. Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home and Cremation Service, One Church Street, Augusta.
