AUGUSTA- Catherine Irene Latlip Thurlow passed away on September 14, 2023, at Maine General Rehabilitation and long-term care Glenridge. Wife of the late Ralph Thurlow.

Catherine was born June 16, 1929, in Hallowell, Maine. She was the daughter of Percy Leo Latlip and Irma Irene Coffin Latlip. She graduated from Hallowell High School, class of 1948.

Catherine married Ralph Thurlow on September 2, 1949, at Sacred Heart Church of Hallowell.

She was employed at Hallowell Shoe Office, Edwards Manufacturing Bates Division, Central Maine Power, Vitramon of Monroe, Connecticut, and finally retiring from the Kennebec Journal in 1994.

Mrs. Thurlow was a communicant of St. Andrews’s Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Church in Augusta. Catherine is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her husband Ralph and her parents, Catherine is predeceased by her two sisters, Veronica Latlip McGee and Mabel Robbins, her brother’s Leo A. and Perley F. Latlip.

A graveside service will be held October 2, 2023, at 1:00 PM in the Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Blue Star Ave, Augusta.
