Obituary

Charlene Robertson Bridge, 87, passed peacefully at Maine General Medical Center with family by her side. She was predeceased by her loving husband John, her brother Alexander Robertson and sister Elizabeth Nadeau, and her parents, Sadie Goodridge and Raymond Robertson. Charlene is lovingly remembered by her sisters, Barbara Sevey (Richard) of Bangor, ME; Virginia Michaud of Skowhegan, ME; Rosemary Covey of Norridgewock, ME; and Kathleen Perelka (Robert) of Canaan, ME; as well as sons Michael Field (Angie Harvel) of Cosby, TN; David Field (Deborah Botella) of Palm City, FL; daughter Kathryn Angelo (Steven Angelo) of Centennial, CO; and stepchildren Allyn Bridge of Concord, NH and Allison Pederson of Ocala, FL. She was also survived by 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was born and raised in the Fairfield area and attended Lawrence High, class of 1955. After graduation, she attended Central Beauty School to become a hairdresser and worked as one for a few years. After moving to Augusta in 1968, she was always very involved in the community, from working as co-owner (with first husband Steve Field) at the Dairy Queen in Augusta to being involved with many local charities, including but not limited to Kennebec Valley YMCA, Maine Children's Home, and Kennebec Valley United Way. For the last 6 years, she was a beloved member of the Granite Hill community in Hallowell. She will be missed dearly by friends, family, and everyone in the community who had the joy of knowing her. Her memory will be honored with calling hours on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 4:00 pm EDT at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church Street, Augusta, Maine, 04330. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 2:00 pm EDT at Forest Grove Cemetery, 159 Winthrop Street, Augusta, Maine, 04330. (Corner of Winthrop St and Blaine Ave) The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Maine Children's Home. Charlene's life was a testament to the power of love, generosity, and community. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her and those who will come to know her through the stories shared by her family and friends.
