SIDNEY - Charles R. Kittredge, 83, formerly of Augusta, died Sunday June 17, 2018 in Sidney. He was born in Augusta on March 10, 1935, the son of Ralph and Mary (Davlin) Kittredge. Charles attended Augusta area schools. He started working at the age of 15 in 1950. He worked at Hazzard Shoe in Hallowell for 18 years, and later for Lipman Poultry and LaVerdiere’s Drug Store, retiring in 1986. Charlie was a lifelong NY Yankees fan. He loved listening to Elvis and enjoyed a good game of cribbage or checkers. He was predeceased by his parents; two half-brother Vincent and John Kittredge; a sister Mary Alice Grondin; and his longtime companion Janice Albee. Charlie is survived by his niece Charlene King and husband Jerry of Sidney, with whom Charlie has been residing with; a great niece; two great nephews; a great great niece; and a great great nephew. Visiting will be held on Thursday June 21st, 2018, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, One Church Street, Augusta, followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Western Ave, Augusta, at 11:30 am. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Augusta.
