Obituary

HALLOWELL - Charlotte B. Lindsay, 76, of Water Street, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at Augusta Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Prentiss on Feb. 24, 1933, the daughter of Donald and Eunice (Tucker) Cochrane. Charlotte attended Prentiss area schools and had worked as a mental health worker at Bangor Mental Health Hospital for 20 years until her retirement. She enjoyed sewing, art and crafts, reading and being with her family and friends. She was predeceased by two brothers, Donald and Robert Cochrane, and two grandchildren, Nathan Lindsay and Kristopher Campbell. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, George Lindsay of Hallowell; two sons, Daniel Lindsay and his wife, Barbara, of Augusta, and Mark Lindsay and his wife, Anne, of Milton, Vt.; three daughters, Bonnie Michaud of Augusta, Sharon Drew and her husband, Wallace, of Dyer Brook and Laurie Campbell and her husband, Sgt. 1st Class Edward Campbell, of Pittston; a sister, Kathi Gogan and her husband, Walter, of Bangor; a brother, Kenneth Cochrane and his wife, Bonnie, of Holden; nine grandchildren, Sam, Jennifer, Tessa, Jerry, Mendy, Nikki, Jared, Jason and Logan; 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Augusta Rehabilitation for the care and compassion given to Charlotte during her stay there. Visiting will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta, where a celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday.
