LITCHFIELD ? Colleen Louise Ruman, 73, of Litchfield, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002 at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, after a courageous battle with multiple illnesses. She was born in Wilton, Nov. 30, 1928, the daughter of Walter B. and Evelyn (Rowe) Sands. She was educated in Wilton and Monmouth schools, graduating from Monmouth Academy in 1946. She married George J. Ruman Nov. 20 that year. Colleen was a wonderful cook, seamstress, caretaker and listener. She was a strong-willed and selfless person who always put others first. She will be forever remembered in the hearts of those closest to her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her husband, George of Litchfield; two daughters, Candace Gray and her husband, Danny, and Rebecca Ridley and her fiance, Roger Turcotte, all of Monmouth; six grandchildren, Brandon, Corey, and Ashley Ridley, Christl Theriault, Tracey Reynolds and Trevor Dorian; a great-grandson, Gavin Chasse; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Colleen's life will be held 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at the home of Becky Ridley and Roger Turcotte, 5 Cemetery Road, Monmouth. A graveside service will be held in the spring at a date and time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assn., 10 Bangor St., Suite F, Augusta 04330. Arrangements are in the care of Roberts Funeral Home, Winthrop.
