Obituary

AUGUSTA- Dale B. Randall Sr., passed away on July 26, 2023, in his home with his loving family by his side after a brief illness. Dale was born October 22, 1943, in East Machias to the late Benson and Blanche (Marshall) Randall. Dale met the love of his life, Sherry, at the University of Maine at Machias. They married in 1969. Together they raised their three children. Dale graduated from Washington Academy in 1962. After high school, he went on to the University of Maine at Machias where he received his B.S. in Education. He received his M.Ed. from the University of Maine in 1976. Dale taught elementary school for 25 years. In addition, he was also First Selectperson for 36 consecutive years for the Town of Passadumkeag, where he and Sherry built and managed Sand Hill Apartments in 1990. Dale was proud to manage and harvest the family blueberry land in East Machias, Maine, and could be found there every summer. He considered himself a devoted steward of the family blueberry land. In addition to his loving wife, Dale is survived by his son Dale Jr. and wife Deanna of Passadumkeag, Jill Randall and husband Victor Minor, their sons Samuel and Alexander of Hallowell, Julie York and husband John, their sons Ethan and Ryan of Vassalboro, and brother Edwin Randall and wife Evelyn of Bowie, Maryland, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, brother Milton (Pete) and treasured Aunt Leona Marshall, who left her employment as a registered nurse to care for him during infancy. Per Dale's request, a private graveside service will be held at Ames Cemetery in Benton. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Downeast Coastal Conservancy, whose mission is to build a legacy of community conservation in Washington County.
