David Merle Barlow (59) passed away peacefully after a brief illness on May 26, 2021. He was a graduate of Franklin High School (Franklin, MA) and a veteran of The United States Marine Corps. He was a resident of Massachusetts but has been living in Augusta ME for 17 years. Dave was a carpenter by trade, whose work may be seen throughout New England. David had many interests including reading, writing, and gardening. He enjoyed being with nature and spending time with his family. He loved to create things in his spare time. Most recently he enjoyed designing and making wooden toys.
David is predeceased by his parents Cynthia and Edward Walenty of Uxbridge, MA. David is survived by his children, Christine Barlow and grandson Kyle of Milford, MA; Michael Barlow of Worcester MA; Caitlin Bogue, and husband Frederick and grandchildren Everett, Allison, and Madeline of Barre, MA; Zoe Crowe and fiancé Terrall Plaisted of Augusta ME; and Colin Barlow of South China, ME.
He is also survived by his siblings Phillip Barlow and his wife Laurie of Franklin, MA; Linda Walenty-St. Laurent and her husband Joseph of Lakeville, MA; Margaret Walenty of Brookline MA; and Mary Lambert and husband David of Leicester, MA. David is also an uncle of several beloved nieces and nephews.
A gathering to celebrate David's life will be held at the VFW Post 1526 in Medway MA Friday, June 4, 2021 4-6 PM. All are welcome.
