Winthrop- David Earl Hamlin 60, of Winthrop died unexpectedly Sat, March 21, 2026, at his home in Winthrop.
He was born May 21, 1965, the son of the late David P. and Donna Mae (Lilly) Hamlin of Dresden.
David graduated from Wiscasset High School in the class of 1983. From a young age he worked with the Wilkinson family and helped grow the Wilkinson Blueberry business in Dresden, they treated him like a family member. Honorably discharged from the Army in 1986, he then served in The National Guard. He was employed by the Augusta Water District from 1986-2012. From 2012 until his passing, he was employed by Williams Trailer Center in Winthrop. He loved the outdoors and Nature, enjoyed going to his camp in the K.I. Jo-Mary Forest where he loved to fish for trout and salmon. His
passion was Duck Hunting, he was always excited for opening day of Duck
season. He liked a good game of cribbage, he strived to impress everybody with his
Culinary skills, and he particularly loved using his pellet smoker & cooking on an open fire.
He'll be missed by all.
David was pre-deceased by a son, Adam Hamlin. He is survived by two sons, Hunter A. Hamlin, of Winthrop, Joshua D. Hamlin of West Gardiner; four brothers, Donald R,(Dickie) Hamlin of Augusta, Darrin Hamlin of Augusta, John Lamoreau & wife Kelly of Windsor, Jeffrey Mesenzeff of FL; a sister, Tina Lamoreau-Whitten and her husband Roger of Gardiner; step mother, Isla Hamlin of Gardiner; his companion, Kathleen White of Gardiner; several nieces & nephews; lifelong best friend, Billy Wilkinson of Dresden.
