LITCHFIELD- David Morgan, 74 of Litchfield, passed away peacefully on June 22nd at the Comfort Care Unit in Glenridge after a brief illness. The son of Fred and Evangeline Morgan of Readfield, he is survived by his sisters Valerie Morgan, and Holly LaBonte and brothers Don, Fred and Mike Morgan. David had two daughters, Kim Davis and Tami Whitmire, before marrying Debbie, his wife of 47 years. They have two children, Amanda and Ryan. Living on his own at the age of l6, David became a skilled heavy equipment operator, working most of his life in the construction industry. As an adventurous young man he enjoyed amateur stock car racing, later becoming an avid spectator. His spare time was spent hunting and fishing with family and friends. He was a very sociable person and ran into someone he knew wherever he went. David liked to gamble, play poker and attend pulling events at local fairs. Always looking for a deal, he earned money on the side buying and selling. In his later years you would find him reading Uncle Henry's every Thursday. After retiring at 62, he spent time "puttering" around his vegetable and flower gardens or cutting a little firewood. David enjoyed life, having no regrets. He will be missed by family and friends. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
