Obituary

EAST WINTHROP - David Freeman Russell, 77, died unexpectedly on Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. He was born in Augusta on Nov. 15, 1929, the son of Freeman and Emily (Coffin) Russell. David graduated in 1948 from Cony High School. He was a longtime member of the Teamsters and Elks Club, and was a former member of the Maine National Guard. Dave enjoyed golf, bowling and, most of all, his family and friends. He is survived by his son, Stephen Russell and his wife, Paige, of Boothbay, and their two sons, Adam and Seth; his daughter, Margaret R. Kizzia and her husband, Jerry, of Richardson, Texas, and their two sons, Jay and Jason; two great-grandchildren; and his brother, Robert Russell and his wife, Margaret, of East Winthrop, and their four children. Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 31, at Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Forest Grove Cemetery, Augusta.
