David Prescott Crocker, Sr., a proud veteran of the US Navy, passed away July 9th, 2024, after a long battle with COPD.
The son of the late Herbert and Olga Crocker, Sr. David grew up in Winthrop. He was born in Augusta, Maine July 17, 1944, and attended Winthrop Schools getting his GED in 1968.
David loved to play golf and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.
He worked at Carlton Woolen Mills for over 30 years.
He was also a past Commander of the Winthrop Legion, Post#40.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Lynn Ramsay Crocker, of Pittston, his sons, Dana Crocker and wife Caddie of Mechanic Falls, Jesse Crocker and partner Heather McGlothlin of Virginia, Dennis Crocker and wife Janet of Monmouth, his grandchildren, Joshua, Megan and Joseph, great grandchildren, LunaBelle and Caryja, and Dev, his brothers and sisters, Pearl Peterson, of Greene, Alan Crocker and Tom Lewis of Monmouth, Leslie Crocker, of Winthrop, Marcia Lewis of Augusta, Donald Crocker and partner Lili Preda of New York, Cindy Yarnes, Kenai, AK, Tammy Beland and her husband Steve of Monmouth.
He is predeceased by both of his parents, son, David Crocker, Jr., brothers, Henry, Herbert Jr., Charlie Crocker, a sister, Bonnie Crocker Arris and baby girl, brother-in-law Nelson Peterson Sr., and sister-in-law, Mary Crocker.
A service honoring the life of David Prescott Crocker, Sr. will be held Tuesday, July 30th at 1:00 pm at the Maine Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta.
