Obituary

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Denise Marie Carpenter, who left us on October 6, 2026. Denise was born on December 18, 1962, in Waterville, Maine, and passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, in Winthrop, Maine. She was known for her stubborn determination, her infectious sense of humor, her kind nature, and her meticulous attention to detail.

Denise grew up in Winslow, Maine, where she had the foundation for a life filled with purpose and dedication. She pursued a career as a nurse, a path that allowed her compassionate spirit and caring nature to shine through as she tended to others in the healthcare field. Her dedication to her profession was a testament to her commitment to making a difference in people's lives. Denise possessed a unique blend of qualities that made her a beloved figure to those who knew her. Her stubborn streak often masked a deep well of kindness, and her funny anecdotes and witty remarks could brighten any room. She had a lovely way about her, making people comfortable and seen. Her meticulous nature that everything she set her mind to was done with precision and care, whether it was a ask at work or a project at home. Beyond her professional life, Denise cherished her personal passions. She found joy in cooking and baking, often sharing her delicious creations with loved ones. Her love for walking kept her active, and she enjoyed the mental challenge of crossword puzzles and the escape offered by reading. The beach held a special place in her heart, and her favorite destination was North Carolina, a place she clearly held dear.

Denise is survived by her loving husband, Jeffery Carpenter. She also leaves behind her two daughters, Jodi Chase and Sarah Deslandes, a brother, David Sylvain, a sister, Cindy Gilbert, and two grandchildren. Services will be held privately at a later date. Denise Marie Carpenter will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on through the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the lessons she taught.
