Millinocket and Old Orchard Beach, Maine – Denise (Nadeau) Landry, 75, peacefully went to be with the Lord surrounded by family at the Maine Veterans' Home in Scarborough on Monday, August 22, 2022.
She was born March 22, 1947, in Saint Rose Degelis, Quebec, Canada to her mother Simone Nadeau and her father Joseph Nadeau. She spent her life devoted to her husband, children, and grandchildren. She showed her love for friends, family and acquaintances with her beautiful smile and sweet French accent.
Denise married her "Sweet Pea", Zoel Yves Landry, of Millinocket, on June 6, 1970. Their love story was truly one from storybooks. Before the two settled for 25 years in Millinocket, Zoel shared his love of travel with his bride and they explored much of the Eastern parts of the US & Canada together. They raised three beautiful children who gave them five treasured grandchildren. Denise loved caring for her children, husband, and home, meeting new people, going out to eat, dancing, and playing the accordion. In 2000, Denise and Zoel moved to Old Orchard Beach and enjoyed spending time walking the beach until she was unable to walk anymore. Zoel cared for Denise in the most loving and devoted way until the very end.
Denise is survived by the love of her life of 52 years, Zoel Yves; three children, Craig Landry and his wife Linda Landry Lopez, Daniel Landry, and Christine Michaud and her husband Jason Michaud; her five grandchildren, Samantha Landry, Craig Landry Jr., Ella Michaud, Eben Michaud, and Dana Landry; her six siblings and spouses Henadine Pare, Francoise & Albert Nadeau, Benoit & Linda Nadeau, Michel & Rolande Nadeau, Claude Nadeau, Gilles & Denise Nadeau.
In addition to her parents, Denise was predeceased by her brother Jacques Nadeau, sister-in-law Kathy Nadeau, and daughter-in-law Cherie Landry.
Denise's family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at the Maine Veterans' Home in Scarborough for the excellent care given to Denise and the courtesy extended to her family.
