AUGUSTA - Desmon Allen Hewett, 49, died Friday, May 26, 2006, at the Augusta Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Augusta on Sept. 11, 1956, the son of Amelia H. Bartlett. A graduate of Cony High School, Desmon grew up in Augusta and was employed as a truck driver for several local companies. He lived in Las Vegas for awhile and loved that time in his life. His hobbies included roller skating, putting models together, and attending sporting events with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed stock car racing at Unity Raceway. He is survived by his daughters, Dawn Colomy and fianc?, Byron French, and Jana L. Colomy and fianc?, Justin Main, and their mother, Judy Colomy, all of Augusta; two sisters, Deirdra Perry and husband, Shane, of Litchfield and Kelly Robertson and husband, James, of Augusta; four grandchildren, Jasmine, Cameron, Catarina, and Thomas J.; three nieces and two nephews, Jessica, Rachel, Heather and Alex and CJ; and an extended family who loved him dearly. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, at East Winthrop Cemetery. There will be a gathering to follow at 193 Cony St. in Augusta. Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1 Church St., Augusta.
