Obituary

MONMOUTH- Dolores J. Rioux was born in Chartierville, Canada on July 5, 1934, to the late Lucien and Laurette (Pratte) Duquette. At the age of 14 she moved with her parents and 4 siblings to Lewiston Maine. She worked as a waitress at Therrien's Restaurant in Greene, Pepperell Sheets in Lewiston and later sewed shoes at home for Industrial Shoe in Lewiston. Dolores met the love of her life, Gerard Rioux, shortly after moving to Lewiston. They were married on May 15th, 1954, and lived at the family farm in Greene until 1958 when they moved to their own farm in Monmouth that would become their lifelong home and where they raised 8 children. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, canning, knitting, sewing, puzzles and many other crafts. Later in life, her greatest joys were sitting on her porch swing and spending time with her family, especially her great granddaughter Patience. Dolores is predeceased by her loving husband and parents. She is survived by her sons, Paul Rioux and wife Debbie of Monmouth, Patrick Rioux and wife Donna of Monmouth, Roger Rioux and partner Vanessa Bowler of Monmouth, Richard Rioux of Monmouth, David Rioux, Mark Rioux and wife Elena of Sabattus. Her daughters, Jane Rioux and husband Tom Gatto, Claire Walker and husband Alan of Monmouth, brother, Jean Claude Duquette and wife Gloria of Eustis, sisters, Carmelle Lagasse of Lewiston, Monique Landry and husband Bertrand of Lewiston, Pierrette Lamontange and husband Robert of Greene. Her grandchildren, Dan and wife Stephanie, Tim and wife Kelly, Angela Everett and husband DJ, Jason and wife Emily, Candace, Lucas, and Marisa. Great grandchildren, Taylor, Andrew, Trevor, Nathan, Autumn, Patience, and Porter. We have lost a great lady, that will be deeply missed.
