Obituary

Winthrop, ME; Donna Claire Eaton Mann passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, October 15, 2026. She had been battling Alzheimer’s Disease and other health issues for some time. She left this earthly plane in her home with her beloved husband and dog by her side.

She was born on March 7, 1956 in Lowell,MA daughter of Lisle & Eleanor Eaton. The family moved back home to North Berwick, ME when Donna was 9. The Eaton family roots went back far into the history of North Berwick & Wells and that is something she took great pride in. She was a member of the Noble High School graduating class of 1974 and kept in touch with many of her classmates throughout her life. She went on to work at MSAD 60 as an administrative assistant for many years forming lifelong connections with many of her coworkers. She married her dear husband Brian in 1997 and moved to Gardiner,ME. She worked in the social work field for many years after that and graduated from UMA in 2004 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. After retirement she volunteered with Beacon Hospice putting her compassionate nature to work helping families navigate the grieving process, she was a natural.

Donna loved the outdoors and she and Brian found their dream home in the deep Maine woods and enjoyed living amongst the trees and wild animals that surrounded them. She had many hobbies throughout the years including reading, writing, quilting, embroidering, crocheting, keeping her home beautifully decorated, learning to ride horses, gardening, swimming, baking sweet treats and later in life learning to play the violin. But her favorite pastime was being “Meme” to her granddaughter Jennifer. Spending as much time as she could with her. Passing on her stories and sense of humor and just having fun together brought her great joy. She loved animals and had many pets that she adored. When she became a Reiki practitioner she worked with many animals that were suffering with pain and sickness, bringing peace and healing to each of them.

Always the life of the party and quick witted Donna made friendships easily and made a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her compassion for people familiar and not was a gift that she possessed and many benefited from as she could always be counted on to give guidance and comfort when a friend or loved one needed it. Her sense of humor and gift of storytelling was beyond compare and made everyone in her life feel lucky to know her. She will be missed by many and her legacy will live on in many hearts.

Donna is predeceased by her father Lisle A. Eaton, mother Eleanor M. Eaton, uncle Donald H. Eaton, aunt Alice Eaton, cousin Linda Eaton, aunt Jane Eldridge, uncle George Eldridge, cousin Ricky Eldridge, aunt Mary Reid, cousin Chuck Reid and father in law Henry Mann Sr. She is survived by her husband Brian T.
