SIDNEY - Dorothy M. Pierce of West River Road died Friday Feb. 24, 2006, at her home. She was born in Ireland, the daughter of James and Eleanor (McCance) Murphy. Dorothy graduated high school and attended Fanny Farmer Cooking School in Worcester, Mass. She later became a secretary for the Paul Revere Insurance Co. in Massachusetts, where she met her husband, Theodore Pierce. She was predeceased by her husband and a sister, Kathleen Keene. She is survived by a niece, a nephew and a close friend, Linda Penney of Augusta. There will be no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 3, at Riverside Cemetery on Milbury Street, Grafton, Mass. The Rev. Richard Clarke, from St. Andrews Episcopal Church, North Grafton, will officiate. Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1 Church St., Augusta 04330.
