Obituary

Warren - Douglas L Hooper passed away unexpectedly in his home in Warren, Maine on February 6, 2025, and was born on August 28, 1958 in Thomaston, Maine. Known for his laid-back and funny personality Douglas brought joy to everyone around him. He attended George's Valley high school and dedicated many years working as a truck driver for George Hall & Sons, a role that brought him fulfillment and camaraderie. Douglas married his beloved wife, Janice, on August 30, 1997 and spent 28 wonderful years, loving and joking with his best friend. Together they shared a love for fishing, hunting, gardening and treasured taking their family to camp, creating cherished memories. Dougie could always be seen with a Diet Coke in hand or tucked away in his vest pocket. He enjoyed working on anything with a motor and shared this love and wisdom with many. As a dedicated family man, he treasured moments with his friends, family, grandchildren, and dogs. Douglas enjoyed sitting around the kitchen table with a cup of coffee, listening to his scanner playing cards and socializing with family and friends. Douglas is survived by his wife, Janice Hooper, his mother Shirley Hooper, his brother Lloyd (Ricky) Hooper, his sister Joyce Brown, and his children, Christopher Krista, Josh Theresa, along with his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by Melanie and family, Reggie and family. Shane and Travis. He was preceded by his father Lloyd Hooper Senior and his stepdaughter Melissa Brown McGuire. A celebration of life will be planned for the spring, where family and friends may gather to honor his memory. Arrangements and guidance are in the care of Roberts Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 62 Bowdoin Street, Winthrop, Maine.
