Obituary

READFIELD, ME/FRAMINGHAM, MA: Duncan Richard Duval, age 68, beloved life partner and best friend for 46 years of Reverend Deborah Rogers Duval, passed away suddenly on January 7, 2024. Born in Needham, MA, and raised in South Natick, he was the son of Lee and Priscilla Duval. In addition to his adored wife Debbie, he was the devoted father to his children Jasmine Laffin and her husband Tim, Jessica Towne and her husband Greg, and Cam Duval and his spouse Emma Chinman. Loving Grumpy to Derek Duval and his partner Alex Cohen, Piper and Tripp Laffin, Scotia and Felix Towne. More than anything in life, Duncan loved his family, his fox-red Lab Milo and his many other four-legged companions. Duncan graduated from Natick High School (1973), met Debbie while working at Camp Arrowhead and was a longtime resident of Framingham where he proudly served as a firefighter, EMTI and HazMat Tech for 32 years on the Framingham Fire Department. Upon retirement he drove a school bus for Framingham, and after moving to Maine, the Maranacook School system. Duncan loved spending his summers at Dummer's Beach in Weld, ME and on Star Island in coastal NH. He enjoyed camping, hiking, cycling, reading, Disney movies, and was the perfect "pastor's spouse." His ability to connect with young kids and animals was no accident; they sensed his goodness and were naturally drawn to him. He is also survived by his siblings Carla Gavin (Paul), Adrienne Guay (Joe), Doug Duval (Paula), Jay Duval (Kathie), Janine Komola (Tom), mother-in-law Marjorie Rogers, brothers-in-law Rick Rogers (Sara-Jane) and Scott Rogers, nieces and nephews, aunts and cousins.
