Manchester - Earle A. Kimball, 91, of Benson Road, left his family and friends to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday June 27, 2008. He was born in Augusta on September 27, 1916, the son of Earle C. and Beulah A. Kimball. He attended Augusta schools including Washington, Lincoln and Smith and was a graduate of Cony High School, class of ?34 and Hebron Academy, class of ?36. He was a life long member of the Green Street United Methodist Church, but his allegiance was to the Manchester Community Church. He was employed by the M.U.C. Commission prior to accepting employment as an IBM business machine operator for the Social Security office in Baltimore, MD. He returned home to accept a position with the Augusta Post Office under Post Master Harold E. Weeks, retiring in 1976. Earle enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid brook fisherman, a member of the Maine Biggest Buck Club, charter member of the West Gardiner Rod and Gun Club, and a former member of the Massachusetts Striped Bass Association. He was taking large stripers from the lower Kennebec river and the coast of Maine to Kittery, long before it became the sport it is today. He was charter member #3 of the Maine-A-Bagos, a club for the owners of Winnebago-Itaska motor homes, and twice past president of the Maine State Club. He was a WWII Navy veteran, serving as a First Class Petty Officer aboard P.T. Boat #78 of the M.T.B. Squadron 13, stationed in the South Pacific. He was also a life member of the V.F.W. post 14000. He was predeceased by a brother Arnold A. Kimball of Detroit, MI. and his life partner Elloween E. ?Pat? Piper of Manchester. Earle is survived by a very dear son Deane C. Kimball, a professional firefighter of the Fall River, MA. fire department, and his wife Maureen of Somerset, MA.; a daughter Sheila E. Kimball of Taunton, MA. and a dear, dear daughter Nancy Bonenfant of Manchester. Also survived by very special people Regina L. Waitt and her husband Royal; Dalene Pelton and her husband Daryl and VickyPelton, all of Wayne; 3 grandchildren, Brett and Todd Kimball of Somerset, MA. and Mathew S. Bonenfant of Rex, GA.; great grandchildren Michelle, Brett Jr. and Tyler. Also several nieces and nephews. There will be no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held 11:00 on Wednesday, July 2, in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Augusta, followed by a gathering of family and friends at the home of Regina and Royal Waitt, 173 Walton Road, Wayne. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice House, 236 Stetson Road, Auburn 04210, the American Cancer Society, One Main Street, Suite 300, Topsham 04086, or the Manchester Community Church, Rt.17, Manchester 04351.
