MANCHESTER- Eileen (Chesney) Wiegleb, 83, died peacefully at her home on July 26th, 2022.

Eileen was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, on October 2, 1938, the daughter of Peter and Elizabeth Chesney.

She spent the early part of her life in New Jersey where she graduated from St Cecilia’s High School in Kearny. While in NJ, she met and married her beloved husband Walter and together they had three children before relocating to Maine in 1981.

Eileen was a dedicated wife and mother to her family while occasionally working as a secretary/bookkeeper, including for her husband’s home construction business and St. Mary’s Rectory. She enjoyed playing golf, gardening, road trips and visiting Kiawah, South Carolina. From a close-knit family, there was nothing she loved more than time spent with family and friends over meals and card playing.

Predeceased by her parents as well as her husband Walter, she is survived by her children, Jennifer, Laura and Eric, her siblings, Rita, Elizabeth, Ronald and his wife Dorothy, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 19th at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Western Ave., Augusta, followed by internment at the Pleasant View Cemetery, Cushing, Maine.
