Obituary

FARMINGDALE - Eleanor C. DuPont, 87, of Farmingdale died peacefully Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at her home. She was born July 29, 1918, in Bath, the daughter of Melvin and Grace (Hayden) Cunningham. She was a 1937 graduate of Morse High School. During World War II, Eleanor worked for Sears Roebuck and Co. She and her husband also ran a heating, plumbing and electrical business for many years. Mrs. DuPont played the organ and was a member of the Hammond Organ Society. She was a member of the Tri-City Fish and Game Club and the Tri-City Pistol Club. She enjoyed spending time at camp with her husband, Larry, and also enjoyed reading. Eleanor is survived by her husband, Larry DuPont; two sons, John H. DuPont of Farmingdale and Sidney L. DuPont of Waterville; five grandchildren, John L. DuPont, William A. DuPont, Patricia A, Kepple, Andrew L. DuPont and Joseph DuPont; along with 10 great-grandchildren. According to Eleanor's wishes, there will not be any services. Memorial donations may be made to HealthReach Home Care and Hospice, P.O. Box 828, Waterville, ME 04903-0828. Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta.
