Eloi J. Cormier Obituary (1928

Eloi J. Cormier, 87, of Augusta, Maine and formally of Connecticut, died Saturday, February 21, 2015 at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta after a short illness. He was born on January 25, 1928, the son of Albert and Elise (Melanson) Cormier in Notre Dame N.B., Canada. After serving in the Korean War from 1952-1954, he moved to Connecticut where he was married to Lewine T. Martin on December 29, 1956. They were married for 51 years until her death in June of 2008. Eloi worked for Capitol Pipe in Newington, CT. for 35 years. He was a loving and gentle father and husband. He was also predeceased by 8 brothers; Eric, Gerard, Neri, Zoel, Joseph, Emile, August and Aquilla; a sister Lorraine and a daughter-in-law Robin. He is survived by two sons; Robert Cormier and his wife Nancy of Augusta, ME.; Rene Cormier and his wife Rose of Lake Los Angeles, CA.; two daughters; Anita King and her husband John of Vassalboro, ME. and Jeanne Cormier and her husband Raymond Massanti Jr., of Southington, CT.; a brother Emery Cormier of Hartford, CT.; 2 sisters, Anita LeBlanc of Moncton N.B., Canada, and Bernice Messier of Bradenton, FL.; 6 grandchildren, Ryan Cormier and his wife Stephanie of Pittsburgh, PA., Russ Cormier of Boynton Beach, FL., Alan King of Monroeville, PA., Stephen King of Vassalboro, ME., and James and Joshua Cormier of Augusta, ME.; 4 great grandchildren Russ and Devon Cormier of Boynton Beach, FL., and Lucas and Emily Cormier of Pittsburgh, PA.; also a sister in law, brother in law, and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday March 7, at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home and Cremation Service, One Church St., Augusta ME., where memories, condolences and photos may be shared with the family on the obituary page of the website at www.khrfuneralhomes.com.
