AUGUSTA -- Enola (Cooper) Hallett, 94, died on Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. She was born in Livermore Falls on May 14, 1910, daughter of Ralph D. and Lottie (Trask) Cooper. She was the wife of Carlton C. Hallett, who died in 1999. They were married for 68 years. She graduated from Erskine Academy in 1927 and attended Farmington State Normal School. She taught school in Windsor and Chelsea for four years. She later was employed at Augusta Savings Bank for more than 30 years as an assistant treasurer, retiring in 1971. She was a retired member of the Association of Savings Bank Women, and also was a member of the Kennebec Agricultural Society and a former member of the Windsor Grange. She was known to her family and many friends as 'Nana.' An avid Red Sox fan, she also enjoyed her daily crossword puzzle, Scrabble, jigsaw puzzles and keeping a detailed daily diary. Enola was known for her delicious pies, homemade ice cream and other delectable treats. She served the teachers of Farrington School their dinners at noontime, from 1937 to 1941. Survivors include two sons, Stanley C. of Windsor and Doran R. of Jonesport; one daughter, Gloria (Hallett) Tracy Coleman of Marstons Mills, Mass.; one sister, Hilda Haskell of Augusta. She was grandmother of Wanda Grasso of Las Vegas, Wendy Hallett of Augusta, Mark E. Tracy of Plymouth, Mass., Brian M. Tracy of Cummaquid, Mass., Penny Hallett of Chicago and Scott Hallett of Perkasie, Pa., and had many nieces and nephews. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Windsor.
