AUGUSTA - Ethel Stanhope Colbath, 86, of Augusta passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2010, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care at Glenridge. Ethel loved birds, flowers, vegetables and her family. She retired as receptionist for her son, Dr. Karl B. Colbath, in December 2005. She took great pride in working until the age of 82. She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Annie Stanhope, formerly of Calais; her brother, Jack Stanhope, formerly of Carmel; her husband, Burton Colbath, formerly of North Vassalboro; and her son, Dr. Karl B. Colbath. She is survived by a son, Phil Colbath and his wife, Barrie, of Fayette; her beloved granddaughter, Jennifer Delker and her husband, Ken, who reside at Travis Air Force Base in California; a brother, Harry Stanhope, of Calais; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at Kling Cemetery, Augusta, at a later date and time to be announced. The family would like to express its thanks to the devoted service provided by the staff at Glenridge and also the staff at Hospice Health Care for their ongoing care and support.
