WESTBROOK ? Etta B. 'Brownie' Hall, 92, formerly of Wyman Street, Augusta, and Welch's Point, East Winthrop, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, at her home in Westbrook. She was born in Rockland on March 25, 1911, the daughter of Albert and Florence (Rankin) Brown. She graduated from Rockland High School and attended Maine School of Commerce in Bangor. She had worked for the Maine, Department of Human Services, for more than 25 years. She married Charles Hall of Augusta in 1935. Etta was a member of R.B. Capon Rebekah Lodge and the Odd Fellows Ladies Auxiliary, Augusta Garden Club, Kennebec Valley Glass Club, Winthrop Senior Citizens and Thursday Club, and was assistant Brownie and Girl Scout Leader. She was also a member of South Parish Congregatonal Church, Augusta, where she served as deaconess and was active in other church organizations. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Hall, on Feb. 15, 1981. She is survived by two daughters, Penny J. Hall and her husband, Charles Rappaport, of Kingfield, and Deborah A. Hall of Westbrook. Also many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
