SIDNEY- Eugene Gregory Ellsworth "Greg,", 83, passed away at Franklin Memorial Hospital on August 2nd, 2025 with his loving family at his side. He was born on May 25, 1942, to the late George and Mary Ellsworth.
Greg attended Seminole High School in Sanford Florida. Following high school he enlisted into the United States Marine Corps. Greg moved to Sidney, Maine in 1975 and began working at Hazzard Shoe for a short time. He then worked at various places as a sheet rock installer for a short time until he started at Statler Tissue in Augusta and worked there until they closed. He then went on to driving truck for Williams Construction until retirement.
In his free time, he deeply enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeling, ancestry, listening to country music and spending time with family. A visit or phone call from his great granddaughters, Lillian and Abby, would always brighten his day and put a big smile on his face. They will miss Great Grampy dearly. He always enjoyed being around people and would be happy talking with anyone. Family and friends were very important to Greg.
Greg is predeceased by his parents, brothers Danny, Willie, Robert, sister Mary, grandson Tyler, and grand-dog Brady.
In addition to his wife, Mary Ann Gorneau, he is survived by his five daughters Tina Wilson (Bryan), Patricia Davis (Terry), Tanya Guest, Leona Avinger (George), Tammy Tillson (Tom), one son Gary Ellsworth, and brother Mike D'Andrea (Amber). He is also survived by his grandchildren Derek (Sierra), Dylan (Kaitlyn), Gator, Katherine, Bryan, Jeanie, Jannie, Gage, Michael, Codee, and Parker, and several great grandchildren. Greg also leaves behind his fur grand-puppies, Gunner and Brody.
Greg will be interred on Monday August 18th at 2:00PM at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 129 Blue Star Ave., Augusta, where he will receive full military honors. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
